I hope you noticed my last blog post was in early November. And yes, I really hope you missed me.
This time of year always gets us thinking about endings and new beginnings. Starting fresh. Starting over. Looking ahead. Resuming. Returning.
There is a difference between resuming and returning.
Resuming is picking up where you left off. Returning is deciding how you show up now.
I did not disappear over the holidays. I paused with a clear intention to slow the pace. I chose rest, travel, family, and quiet. But that season was not about checking out. It was about checking in.
Too often people resist rest and honest reflection. There is too much inward pressure from outward influences. Trends. Opinions. Urgency. Comparison. Everyone is telling us what matters, how fast we should move, which side to take, and who we should become.
So instead of ending busy and returning busy, I am returning clear.
This is not a fresh start that forgets the past. It is a fresh reset that remembers it well.
Every lesson from last year stays with me. The hard conversations. The disappointments. The quiet wins. The moments when things did not move as planned. None of that is wasted.
It all becomes material for better. Better to myself. Better to others. Better in the world I am part of shaping. Because whether we acknowledge it or not, each of us is connected to the whole. Our habits influence others, and our words either produce life and fruitfulness or death, discouragement, and destruction. The sad thing is that we regularly speak without regard for the supernatural and natural impact on ourselves or others. Our choices and our words touch people we may never meet.
This next season is not about doing more. It is about doing what matters with intention, structure, and care.
Structure. Ahh, that word. That concept. It is essential for how we live, move, and become. If solid structure is essential for harsh weather conditions, aging, beautification, and time management, then it deserves our attention in other areas of life too. Please pause and let that sit with you for the rest of the day.
I am glad you are here. Let’s welcome each day the way we welcomed January 1st, with cheer, gratitude, momentum, expectation, optimism, and joy.
Check my news, I believe there's something to make your day and your year better! Leave me a message or a review. I would love to hear from you.
